BPRR 3050
Twenty black GP40 loaners were built for short term use while cracks were repaired on GP35s and GP40s . The issue occurred at the weld between the center bearing and the bottom plate. All these GP40s were built in 1969 on 2 different orders, then sold after completion of the repairs. One of these, #2071 went to the Milwaukee Road in 1970. Modified with Dash2 electrical gear & sold/renumbered a few times, #3050 is the lone survivor.
